Tracy has been an active and respected member of the birth community since she began her Birth Doula certification process with DONA International in late 2001. At that time, there were only two other professionally practicing doulas in the Nashville area, and she saw a need that she felt called to fill.
After supporting families for a couple of years, Tracy realized she was doing a lot of educating during prenatal sessions with expectant parents. In order to increase her own knowledge of pregnancy/birth and enable her to provide families with more comprehensive preparation and support, she obtained Childbirth Educator certification through Lamaze International in 2004.
Since that time, Tracy has supported hundreds of families as they have brought new little humans into the world. She has also continued to add to her knowledge and skill base with trainings and workshops, including trainings with Water Birth International and Evidence Based Birth, peanut ball workshops, and many more. She even obtained certification as a Happiest Baby on the Block Educator.
Tracy has served on the Board of Directors for DONA International, the Conference Committee for Lamaze International, and is a former Lamaze Membership Committee Chair.
However, Tracy's proudest accomplishment is having raised three kind, intelligent young adults. When she's not supporting birthing families or bragging about her kids, Tracy enjoys theatre, concerts, reading, and travel.
Past clients have shared their appreciation for Tracy's ability to inspire confidence while creating an atmosphere of peace and calm during birth. She likes to say that she doesn't "work," she just hangs out with people having babies - and that has never felt like work.
